Lil Wayne Tweets About Police Wrongfully Killing His Friend (@liltunechi)

Published

on

Lil Wayne and the Young Money crew put on for New Orleans during NBA All-Star Weekend, but unfortunately one of his friends was shot and killed by an officer on Sunday morning. Wayne, Mack Maine, and Magik’s family are now questioning the incident, as some suspect it was a wrongful death.

Police were alerted to a shoplifting incident at “Little Hug Juice Shop,” and Magik was hanging out a corner store nearby, wearing the same color shirt as the suspect. Although eye witnesses say he wasn’t the shoplifter, officer Jonathan Hirdes fatally shot Magik four times.

Atkinson had a troubled past and was currently on probation after pleading guilty to cocaine possession. He had also recently survived being shot six times, and Atkinson’s father believes that his son was wronged.

“I’m not saying he was an altar boy, but he wasn’t a straight-out killer. He wasn’t a criminal. He held up through almost 40 surgeries, to lose his life at the hands of a police officer. I don’t think it’s justice… It’s not right.”

Check out what Mack Maine and Lil Wayne had to say about their friend in the above slide:
