PR OVERDRIVE: Karrueche Tran & BET ADDRESS The Blue Ivy Hair Drama!–CLAIMS It Was A “Bad Judgment Call”

Published

Karrueche TRIED it. And the BEYgency definitely didn’t let her get away with it.. Peep the clip that has everyone down Kae’s back and why Kae and BET are issuing apologies inside…

 photo yesk2.jpg

Now it’s one thing to come for an adult in the entertainment industry. But there’s a fine line when it comes to their kids. And Karrueche crossed that line when she appeared on BET’s “106 & Park” as a gust host yesterday.

 photo jbb.jpg

After Beyonce gave us our life with her MTV VMA performance and Blue Ivy melting our hearts when she presented her mom (along with her dad Jay Z) with the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award, came some nationally televised shade. And Kae was the one leaning the palm tree.

During her guest hosting gig on the BET countdown show (standing next to other guest host Brandon Broady), Chris Brown’s on-again/off-again girlfriend participated in a segment called “Top Six Things Blue Ivy Thought About The VMAs.”

Kae chimes in and says, “I really did wake up like this because my parents never comb my hair [laughs] Sorry Blue!”

No really…she said it. And yes, BET was one of the causes of it.  The fact ANYBODY would think THIS type of ish is A-OK to say about a 2-year-old child….on national television….and think it’s funny….we just can’t.

Check it out below:

Hmph! Karruche and her exotical privilege needs to fall back…

Now…we do understand that she was reading from a teleprompter, but it had to occur to her before she started reading that this just…isn’t right. Or maybe BET changed things at the last minute? (Could they likely be salty over Bey’s BET video performance?)

Either way….you KNOW the BEYgency let Kae HAVE it on social media! And after getting dragged with tweets and retweets for the comments, she offered up an apology. First she tweeted:

Now y’all know I LOVE me some Beyoncé and Blue Ivy! I didn’t write this script y’all lol

— Karrueche Tran (@karrueche) August 25, 2014

I am definitely team #BeyHive ❤️

— Karrueche Tran (@karrueche) August 25, 2014

Then she issued out an official statement which read,

“I am a huge Beyonce fan and I love Blue Ivy. I apologize for the comment and wish I had a chance to review the revised script so that I could have avoided participating in that segment. I love that Blue is able to wear her natural hair. I laugh when I am nervous and when I registered what I had just said, I of course was taken aback.”

And there is at least one BET employee who’s taking up for Karrueche and he’s placing the blame on BET for a bad judgment call. President of Music Programming and Specials for BET Networks Stephen G. Hill issued a series of tweets apologizing for the “unthoughtful” joke and revealed they have already spoke with Bey & Jay and issued an apology to them as well.

He wrote,

(1/4) Last night on 106 & Park there was a stupid, unthoughtful joke made about a young child.

— Stephen Hill (@StephenGHill) August 26, 2014

(2/4)We apologize publically to the child’s parents (and have done so privately) and we have taken punitive actions with those responsible.

— Stephen Hill (@StephenGHill) August 26, 2014

(3/4)It was very bad judgment and we will serve you much better in the future.

— Stephen Hill (@StephenGHill) August 26, 2014

(4/4) Oh, and please don’t hate on Karrueche; it was NOT her fault. We also apologize to her for putting her in that position.

— Stephen Hill (@StephenGHill) August 26, 2014

If they say so…

The fact an employee of a black-focused (yet not black owned) television show even thought for a second this could be funny, says a lot about the BET environment itself.

Game Changer in the Music Industry: MGM Stanlo’s Vision for the Future

Published

on

Groundbreaking artists aren’t just born. They’re forged through relentless grind, unwavering vision, and a sharp business acumen. This deep dive into the industrious mindset of MGM Stanlo reveals the strategy behind making music crackle with energy and authenticity.

Building a Brand That Beats the Odds

Creating a presence in the music industry requires more than just raw talent; it demands a personal brand that resonates with your audience. MGM Stanlo understands the importance of setting himself apart with a distinct sound and persona. “I tell them, I’m not your ordinary Louisiana artist,” Stanlo asserts. He’s aware of his regional stereotype but spins the expectation on its head to show his unique approach to the music. Crafting an identity that defies the norm has helped him gain traction, while embracing social platforms and live interviews extends his reach even further.

*“It’s definitely will be a different take on it,” * Stanlo explains. His message to aspiring musicians is clear—challenge conventions and build a personal brand that’s versatile, memorable, and relatable.

From Passion to Paycheck: The Shift in Musicpreneurship

Embracing music as a business is pivotal for serious artists, and MGM Stanlo exemplifies this shift by discussing his growth from passion-driven performer to strategic entrepreneur. *“To actually receive income to take care of my family. ‘Cause, like, I know it’s fun, it’s a hobby. But the business side of it, like, now it’s time to start getting royalties.”* Music is a multifaceted business calling for artists to think about their craft in terms of investments and returns.

Stanlo’s revelation elevates the conversation around music and entrepreneurship, highlighting the importance of learning the ins and outs of the music business to prosper. It’s clear: artists need to be shrewd business operators as much as they are creative contributors.

Consistency: The Beat That Doesn’t Stop

The theme of consistency is a drumbeat throughout MGM Stanlo’s journey, as he underscores the importance of maintaining momentum. *“Stay more consistent,” * he advises his younger self, alluding to lost time and opportunities. His current trajectory—rife with releases and planned music videos—is a testament to his newfound focus on persistence.

Stanlo’s candid reflection on his past underscores a broader truth within the industry: talent may open doors, but it’s grit and regular output that keep them wide open. For an artist like MGM Stanlo, going full throttle isn’t just a choice but a strategic imperative unique to the hyper-competitive world of hip-hop.

The Unseen Horizon: Diversifying the Portfolio

A true artist doesn’t merely keep up; they leap forward into new realms. Stanlo eyes avenues of expansion, like his dive into the world of fitness as an extension of his brand. *“I want to open an own gym to become a trainer and do that too,”* he shared, casting a vision where music and fitness intersect. His proactive stance suggests the more versatile your ventures, the more robust your career resilience.

Envisioning his future, Stanlo’s ideas go beyond hitting the gym; they encompass building a community around health, much like he has around his music. It’s a lesson in diversification that every aspiring artist should take to heart.

MGM Stanlo isn’t just another artist trying to make his mark; he’s an entrepreneur seeking to etch his name in stone. He has laid out the tools he has used and plans to use: personal branding that breaks grounds, savvy business practices, unyielding consistency, and an undeterred spirit to harness new ventures. His is a narrative that resonates with the grind synonymous with success in music and beyond—a story of a man who keeps asking, “What’s Tha location?” yet knows precisely where he’s going.
