bareMinerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream
I really wasn’t particularly excited about the new bareMinerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream as it sounded like the sort of thing I wouldn’t get much use out of – basically a skincare-infused tinted moisturiser/BB Cream that’ll provide moisture alongside minimal cover. I always seek out high coverage in products as my skin is so prone to spots and post-spot scars, so I figured this wouldn’t do much for me.
The main selling point of this is how much hydration it supplies; the claims are a 215% increase in hydration after a week of use which is something I can’t verify myself, but I can say that from the first use it gives skin a very noticeably softer feel. As my skin has improved quite a bit recently I’ve started seeking out lower coverage products with the view to using them alongside a concealer, and this is a great choice for such a base as it gives a little bit of coverage – mainly reducing redness – but the huge selling point is how hydrating it is; intense hydration in a non-comedogenic formula is something a lot of skin types will benefit from, especially those who are spot-prone and suffer from dehydration, which is my pretty much my skin type in a nutshell. This works well as either a light, summer base for minimal coverage, or a primer for heavier coverage as it leaves skin feeling very hydrated and smooth. It also contains an SPF30 and comes in a decent selection of 10 shades – I’m the lightest, Opal – and when it launches next month here – link – it’ll be £26.
