We’re always looking to Jamie Chung for style inspiration. (Who wouldn’t take advice from a star who creates her own hair accessories?) So when the actress clued us in to a brand-new skin-evening BB body cream complete with SPF at a recent event, with beach season around the corner we had to get the scoop on all her summer must-haves. From a PedEgg to a purse-friendly fragrance, here’s everything the star stocks in her beach bag.

Double-duty SPF: Chung is all about head-to-toe protection. The proof? After she applies her favorite Korean SPF on her face, she slathers Jergens BB Protect Perfecting Body Cream from her décolletagé on down. “I love that has SPF and it evens and corrects skin. I’ve noticed a difference on my legs!”

A floral fragrance: “Elizabeth and James’s Nirvana White is my go-to summer smell, it’s so refreshing,” says the actress, who pops their solid compact in her bag because she doesn’t have to worry about it breaking.

Mucho hair products: Chung carries Bumble and bumble’s Surf Spray to aid her beachy waves, as well as coconut oil, which she applies from mid-shaft to tip before taking a dip, to protect her hair. Accessories are also a must. “I love using a headscarf. It’s a cute way to throw my hair up and out of the way. But I also won’t leave the house without a hat because if it gets hot, my head is the first thing to fry!” Chung recommends Hat Attack’s fun assortment.

A pop of color for her cheeks: The stars says to keep your makeup light “because you want your natural tan to shine through — and you’re gonna sweat!” Chung loves a soft flush, so she swaps her powder blush to a creamier base. Her must-have? “Make Up for Ever’s coral color. “It looks great on everyone.”

Mani/pedi perfectors: Chung, who loves running on the beach, always has two key products on hand to keep her digits pretty. “Whenever I go to a beach, I’ll bring a PedEgg!” Yes, you read that correctly (she says it’s key for some on-the-go smoothing). Also at arm’s reach, polish for necessary touch-ups. “Since my nails are the first thing to go, I bring an extra color with me.” (Right now she’s swiping on brights reds and whites by Essie.)
