Breakover haircut? Gigi Hadid debuted a bold new do on the American Music Awards red carpet. But before you light a candle for her Victoria’s Secret Angel waves, she might be pulling one of the greatest hair pranks of all time.

Of course the blonde bombshell totally pulls off her new short look — a sleek chin-grazing bob, which was styled for the event by celebrity hairstylist, Bryce Scarlett.

“I was really inspired by the neckline of the dress,” Scarlett shares of the super-sexy white Bao Tranchi “choker” dress the model wore on the red carpet. “The dress called for short, sexy, easy — looking hair.” (Note the design also features a lace-up halter top, side-slit skirt and gold hardware!)

Gigi wanted something sleek and pulled back to accentuate the dress,” Scarlett told PeopleStyle. “The cut was a mutual decision, we both wanted to try something totally NEW!”

Scarlett used Matrix products to achieve Hadid’s sleek style, first adding StyleLink Gloss Booster for shine before using a flat iron on the hair. To finish, he added volume with Matrix StyleLink Texture Builder.

So what’s the deal with the fakeout?

The star told Giuliana Rancic on the red carpet (via Marie Claire): “You can check back tomorrow to see if I have short hair … there’s tricks of the trade.”

“Gigi was pleasantly surprised at how great she looked with short hair: Even if it’s only temporary,” Scarlett told PeopleStyle. “I think she’s so used to her long locks, and seeing herself with short hair was [definitely] a look she was into.”

The track, a precursor to his highly anticipated album 4eva Us, Neva Them, showcases Dugg’s signature style and lyrical prowess. In the brand new single, produced by FLEXONTHEBEAT, TyMaz, and Marshak, Dugg calls out those who try to ride his wave without putting in the work, cementing his stance in the rap game. The release is accompanied by an official music video directed by Counter Point, where Dugg and his crew dominate the streets and clubs of Detroit, visually reinforcing his message of loyalty and resilience.
