Cate Blanchett Says She Regrets Dyeing This Part of Her Body When She Was a Teen
Cate Blanchett is our (and just about everyone else’s) perpetual red carpet crush. From her gorgeous porcelain skin to her signature smooth blonde strands, there isn’t an aspect of the star’s beauty regime we don’t want to know all about. So when Blanchett recently revealed bits of her daily routine to Allure, we got out our notepads.

Turns out, even the perfectly polished Blanchett has a few beauty regrets.
“Bleaching my arm hair in high school — it was copper orange in patches and purple in others,” Blanchett confessed of her worst hair mistake in Allure‘s December issue. “Never again.”

But now, decades later, the Oscar-winning actress says she’s grown to love her hair (including her previously orange arm hair), and prefers it in its natural state — right after a fresh dip in the ocean.
“My hair always feels most free after a swim in the surf: partly curly, partly straight,” she said.

And she adheres to that same easygoing philosophy when it comes to her makeup routine, which she says, is “fairly basic.”
“I’ll put a small amount of moisturizer into my base, then rub that in, add a flick of mascara if there’s time, and a bit of blush,” she said.
