Coily Caity Is Naturally Glam!

Published

Tell me about yourself!
Hey everyone my name is Caity. I’m sixteen years old in high school. I’m very caring and always looking to help someone out.

Were you a transitioner or a big chopper? What was your journey like?
I was a transitioner, I transitioned for 17 months. My journey was pretty tough because I didn’t have my family to support me, almost everyone in my family was against me going natural, and it was hard for me to find the right hairstyle with the two different textures.

Had you always embraced your texture?
Once I started growing my hair out I was in LOVE with my natural hair, the kinks and coils were so beautiful to me.

How did family and friends react your decision to go natural? What was your response to them?
As I mentioned earlier my family did not agree with my decision to go natural. All I got was negative feedback from them. My response to their negative comments and opinions was very nonchalant because with or without their support I was still going to do it. It was a decision I made for myself and no one else.

Describe your hair.
I have very thick high porous hair.

Whats the craziest thing you ever done to your hair?
The craziest thing I ever done to my hair was probably trying to color my hair purple with semi-permanent hair color but you cant really see it so I am definitely going to try it again!

What’s your biggest hair related regret?
Waiting to cut my relaxed ends off, I wish I did it earlier in my transition.

What your current hair routine?
I usually shampoo and condition my hair every Saturday with Shea Moisture’s Moisture Retention Shampoo & Pantenes Truly Natural Deep Condition. My favorite product to moisturize my hair is Shea Butter Miracle Buttery Creme.

Whats your favorite hairstyle?
My favorite is a puff; it’s quick and easy!

Who is your curl crush?
The one and only Yolanda Renee @etcblogmag. She is AWESOME!

How do you maintain your hair at night?
I usually would put my bonnet on before I go to bed.

How do you maintain healthy length?
I think keeping my hair moisturized and not being to harsh with it helps me maintain a healthy length.

Whats the best thing about being natural?
The versatility of course! There is so many things you can do with natural hair.

Where can folks find you on the web?
You can find me on instagram @coilycaity
