Diplo Teams With RiFF RAFF, CL and OG Maco for "Doctor Pepper"
Diplo has shared his latest posse cut, “Doctor Pepper”. It features a hook from K-pop crossover star CL (who leant vocals to Skrillex‘s “Dirty Vibe”), plus verses from RiFF RAFF and OG Maco. Listen to the song above.
CL told The FADER the story of the song’s origin: “Diplo canceled a session on me, and I was so mad at him. I was drinking a can of Dr. Pepper and wrote the song so I could go home as soon as possible,” she said. “Diplo ended up loving it!”‘
Diplo also commented on the song’s international feel: “‘Doctor Pepper’ is something that might not register that well with actual K-pop, seeing as it’s a straight Atlanta-style rap record, but the net around K-pop is so wide that it can be anything with confidence and style,” Diplo said.
