Exclusive: Liya Kebede Models Your Ultimate Summer Wardrobe for The Outnet

Published

on

Supermodels wear a lot of hats these days. From lipstick-shade picker to handbag designer, strutting the catwalk is becoming just a small part of their résumé. Which is why we’re not surprised the gorgeous Ethiopian-born model and LemLem designer Liya Kebede was just tapped to model a breezy summer collection for The Outnet.

You probably recognize the supermodel from her L’Oréal Paris campaigns (or her super-glam recent Vogue Paris cover, or our Cannes galleries), but Kebede is now the face of (and the lucky recipient of) the site’s “summer edit”, which features A-list labels including Oscar de la Renta, Suno, Eugenia Kim, Sophie Anderson and more.

And though Kebede is fond of all 17 pieces, there are a few she plans on wearing more than others, like the flowy, floral Suno frock (perfect for rooftop drinks) and an ultra-comfortable striped jersey Iris and Ink maxi that pairs with just about everything.

In fact, this summer, the supermodel’s wardrobe will be filled with easy dresses to keep cool in the unbearable heat, including the collection’s Adam Lippes dress, which she’s planning to wear a few different ways.

“[I’ll] dress it up with a belt and penny loafers,” she tells PEOPLE — and for a more casual ensemble, she’ll “dress it down with high tops.”

Notice a trend? Kebede won’t reach for her heels in the summer — she prefers flat-soled shoes that work from day-to-night to keep things effortless. “[I love] a classic pair of espadrilles — I love Soludos,” she says. “I run around a lot so I need comfortable shoes!”

The rest of her summer wardrobe will be filled with bikinis (but you’ll never catch her in a monokini, she tells PEOPLE), Lemlem shorts (it’s her own line) and super-soft tees. Oh, and a gorgeous bold lip. (Because how can you forget lipstick?)

“[I like] L’Oréal Paris ‘Liya Kebede’ lipstick for a night out,” she says. “Sometimes I borrow Blake [Lively]’s red, which I love, along with ‘Baby Blossom’ for a daytime look.”

Not everyone can be a winner. Detroit native and hip-hop sensation 42 Dugg is back with a fiery new single, Win Wit Us. The track, a precursor to his highly anticipated album 4eva Us, Neva Them, showcases Dugg’s signature style and lyrical prowess. In the brand new single, produced by FLEXONTHEBEAT, TyMaz, and Marshak, Dugg calls out those who try to ride his wave without putting in the work, cementing his stance in the rap game. The release is accompanied by an official music video directed by Counter Point, where Dugg and his crew dominate the streets and clubs of Detroit, visually reinforcing his message of loyalty and resilience. Dugg raps in the hard-hitting track:

Dugg previously teased this new era of his music with a trailer featuring Hill Harper, further building anticipation among his fans. “Win Wit Us” follows a series of recent hits including Wock N Red, SpinDatBac, and Go Again. Earlier this year, Dugg made a triumphant return to the stage with a sold-out “Welcome Home” show at Detroit’s Little Caesars Arena, featuring appearances by superstars like Meek Mill, Yo Gotti, Lil Baby, and more.
