“I’ve always wanted to be a singer and a dancer and an actress since I was very young,” she tells the magazine about her career path. And with her upcoming Vegas residency she’s planning on making it “her” show. “It’s my vision,” she says. “Compared with an arena, Vegas is very intimate. I see this show as a chance for people to spend an evening with me and really get to know me.”

Another show that was 100 percent Lopez, was her November’s AMAs hosting gig. “I’m not going to try to be a comedian. I’m just going to play to my strengths,” she says of her role at awards show. “I’m a singer, I’m a dancer, and I’m a performer.” We’re also going to throw in “quick-change artist” too, after she swapped outfits an impressive 10 times throughout the show, which Lopez says she and her stylists spent weeks planning. “I had scratches and bruises everywhere from trying on so much stuff.”

She also dishes on her love life, which she’s perfectly fine keeping keeping low key, saying marriage is no where on her mind. “I need to be happy on my own,” she says. “If someone fits into that, great. But if they don’t, that’s OK too.”

What is a main priority right now, is taking care of her 8-year-old twins, Max and Emme. “They come with me everywhere,” she says. “I am busy, and they know it. And they know part of their job is helping me get sleep. If I’m sleeping in, they’re very quiet, like, ‘Mommy needs to sleep! She worked late last night!’ We’re a team.”
