Kanye West Drops "Real Friends" and Previews "No More Parties in LA" Featuring Kendrick Lamar

As promised, Kanye West has put out new music today. The release of the track “Real Friends” comes accompanied by a snippet of “No More Parties in LA,” which features Kendrick LamarListen here. Update 1:16 p.m: The track has been removed from Soundcloud, but you can listen to a rip above, via Miss Info. Update 1:47 p.m.: Kanye has explained that it was removed because “there was a slight distortion in the main loop within ‘Real Friends’,” and will be “back up shortly.” He added, “When it’s back up all rippers please rip the new one instead.” Update 2:20p.m.: IT’S BACK! Update 2:28p.m.: Just kidding, he deleted it again. Update 2:47p.m.: It’s back again. Update 2:56 p.m.: You’re never going to believe this, but he deleted the track again. Also, Ty Dolla $ign has confirmed that he is on “Real Friends.” Update 3:05 p.m.: Now the track is up on Kanye’s website. Update 3:15 p.m.: And on SoundCloud. Update 8:14 p.m.: Listen to it above.

Find Tweets from Kanye below.

“No More Parties in LA” was produced by Madlib, with the intro produced by Kanye. “Real Friends” was produced by Kanye, with “sample by Frank Dukes and Boi-1da” and drum programming by Havoc. “No More Parties in LA” appears to feature the same sample from Ghostface Killah’s “Mighty Healthy” that Kanye used on “New God Flow” with Pusha T.

This follows “FACTS,” which dropped on New Year’s Eve.

If Kim Kardashian’s Tweet from this morning is to be believed, this may herald a return to “G.O.O.D. Fridays,” the 2010 series in which Kanye released a new track every Friday in advance of My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy

Un momento, there was a slight distortion in the main loop within Real Friends.

It will be back up shortly. When it’s back up all rippers please rip the new one instead.

— KANYE WEST (@kanyewest) January 8, 2016

New version is up. Please please erase the old one I wasn’t satisfied with the sound quality.

— KANYE WEST (@kanyewest) January 8, 2016

I hope you have a nice weekend.

Update 2:46p.m.: As TeamKanyeDaily points out, West discussed working with Madlib—and rapped the lyrics of “No Parties in LA”—back in 2014, as part of a special featurette included on the DVD version of the Stones Throw Records documentary Our Vinyl Weighs a Ton (21:44 in the clip below):

I could paint the scene of how I felt sitting there with Madlib, working on these tracks, and just hearing the textures. It was like, “something something/over the crib you left your Ray-Bans/My sheets still orange from your spray tan/ No more parties in LA/no more parties in LA”—some shit. Matter of fact, now that you [the interviewer] brought this up, we might have to get some more Madlib beats for the next projects.
