New Video: Smoke Bulga (@SmokeBulga) – Young Michael

Published

on

To know Smoke Bulga, you have to go back to where it all began. Born Allen Keon Lee, Smoke was raised in Boston’s south end and Dorchester, MA. When asked who the hottest MC is in the Boston hip-hop scene, one name constantly arises, “Smoke Bulga”.

In 2008, he signed a major record deal with Epic/Sony and was recognized by national magazines including XXL and The Source as a new artist to watch. With limited historical Boston artist success, it seemed as though Smoke defeated the odds by putting his city on the map and created a gateway for all Boston artists. Time would soon reveal a different story.

Epic/Sony went through transitions within their Urban Music Department that led to Epic/Sony and Smoke Bulga parting ways. However, per the departure, Smoke and his brother Roc Dukati, along with a few childhood friends, created the label “Life 4 Life Records”. The name itself embodied the struggles and limitless efforts it would take to achieve success. Since then they have worked relentlessly and successfully at securing the Smoke Bulga brand as a household name and when mentioned, he was the artist destined to win!

Even after a series of afflictions, Smoke has remained persistent in his pursuit of music and putting his city on the radar. Strengthened by his setbacks and motivated by the possibilities of his future, Smoke is prepared to take the music scene by storm with his new single “Young Michael”, which is already getting played on Power 105.3 in New York by world renowned DJs such as DJ ENVY, DJ SUSS ONE, DJ ILL WILL and also DJ Supreme in Buffalo, NY. Smoke is also getting major support from his hometown station JAM’N 94.5 from Pup Dawg, DJ Chubby Chub and DJ E Dubble. The Video for “Young Michael” was directed by J.R. Saint and has premiered on Revolt Tv on Halloween during a Halloween special. Circumscribe by his family, friends and supporters, the only place left for him to go is up, and if his recent trajectory is any indication, there is no doubt he will get to the top.
