Some people get massages, some have a glass of wine, but for Reese Witherspoon, nothing says relaxation like quality time with the ol’ sock drawer.

Asked how she likes to unwind in her downtime, the actress tells Harper’s BAZAAR, “You know what I like to do? Reorganize bookshelves and my sock drawer.”

While her strategy is great for keeping a tidy house, Witherspoon says her husband, Jim Toth, thinks it can sometimes verge on overkill: “Jim’s like, ‘What have you been doing for four hours in your closet?’ I’m like, ‘Um, reorganizing my underwear?’ ”

The actress also typically enjoys a nice hike to relieve stress, but after months on the Pacific Crest Trail filming Wild, she’s taking a hiatus from the trails.

“I wanted to hike Machu Picchu,” she says of plans for her upcoming 40th birthday in March. “But then I was like, ‘Wait, I did enough hiking last year.’ I’m done with hiking for a minute.”

The role earned her an Oscar nomination for best actress in 2015, her second after winning in 2006 for Walk the Line. But the actress revealed she wasn’t always confident about her performances.

“I was scared of everything. I didn’t know what my career was. I didn’t know why people liked my movies,” she said of acting in her 20s. “Now I feel like a different person. It’s a great thing getting older. You are who you are; you say what you mean.”
