Sofia Vergara Rewears 7-Year-Old Oscar de la Renta Dress (and More of Our All-Time Favorite Style Repeats!)

Published

We love tracking everything celebrities wear again and again and again. But what’s even better is when they reach really far back in their closets for a decade-old style repeat. Like Sofia Vergara’s 7-year-old designer dress, which she just wore last night, plus, Naomi Campbell’s runway repeat from the 1998 Versace fashion show and more can’t-miss recycles from 2015.

Vergara stepped out for dinner Tuesday night wearing a 2008 Oscar de la Renta dress, which of course she gushed about on Instagram. The Modern Family star explained in her caption that she bought the frock seven years ago in N.Y.C. She posted a second snap wearing it out on the town in L.A. styled with peep toe wedge slingbacks and a large orange tote.

Another recent outfit repeater: The ageless Naomi Campbell, who attended the Fragrance Foundation Awards on June 17 wearing the same silver sparkly Versace gown from 1998! She posted an Instagram photo showing off the open back design with the caption, “redux of my custom dress from #18 years ago #GianniVersace.” Aside from sporting slightly longer locks now, she styled the look nearly identically to its runway debut — center part, subtle makeup and silver strappy heels.

Other celebs who love hanging on to their best outfits? Helen Mirren who knocked out a five-time repeat this year in her floral-print Dolce & Gabbana cocktail dress. She was spotted twice in 2015 in the dress and three times in 2013, always swapping around her cardigan colors, shoe choices and accessories (but still remaining the always-elegant style queen she is).

Princess Anne also snuck in an outfit repeat that’s one of the oldest we’ve ever seen — 35 years! For day two of the five-day Royal Ascot horse race, Queen Elizabeth’s daughter paired the belted mustard-colored coat dress over the same printed blouse she paired it with 35 years prior.

And finally, there were the two impressive rewears at the 2015 Golden Globes HBO afterparty. First, Lisa Rinna wore a 10-year-old black-and-nude lace Alaïa design with a sheer hemline (which she first stepped out in in 2005 at the 12th Annual Race to Erase MS). And besides hiking up the neckline and ditching the bracelet, her signature hair cut and super-fit (51-year-old!) body look exactly the same.

And lastly, Entourage star Perrey Reeves’s 23-year-old shimmering maroon design was a repeat from the very first time she attended the award show back in 1992, telling reporters, “I thought I would revive it. No one ever does that. But I guess I’ve been around for a while.”

She added, “I literally went into my wardrobe and said, ‘I’m going to wear something pretty that I always loved, that I haven’t worn again.’ And I did!”

We want to know: Which repeat is your favorite? Sound off below!
