Trap Main (@Qbg_trapmain) – “First Day Out”

Published

on

Recently Mississippi rapper Trap Main released the video for his new song, “First Day Out.” The song is his first release after being incarcerated for over two years for a crime he fought and took to trial.  Trap Main was held against his will but eventually appealed a 30 year sentence and was released. Through it all Trap Main was supported in prison by a “Free Trap” campaign that continued to gain steam until his release recently.

Now Trap Main is coming back with a vengeance and his new single “First Day Out,” a tribute to his fans that continued to support him while he was locked up. Releasing two projects while in jail titled, Born in the Trap  and Free Trap, the buzz has continued since his release to unanticipated levels.

“The Free Trap campaign was crazy, like they supported me from time I went to jail to still now.  It’s love, the streets fuck with me, I really got the streets. I was a young nigga when I started rapping at like 21 and got locked up when I was 25, so I kind of missed two years of my life. But now I’m 27 and I’m just on the come up to make up for lost time,” Trap Main said.

In addition to his support in the streets, Trap Main has earned support on local Jackson, Mississippi radio stations WJMI, 99.7 Jams and WRBJ 97.7, The Beat of the Capital.

“First Day Out is for the fans who supported me while I was locked up. I was locked up 2 years, I was facing 30 years and came back on an appeal. Nigga stayed solid – stuck to da G Code. I just want to keep going and taking it to the highest level I can take it. Staying safe is big because you know rappers are targets. But from there, just take care of my family. Keep some loyal ones around and try to elevate.”

Heavily influenced by losing his cousin and a close collaborator Lil Lonnie, Trap Main is inspired daily by having lost a host of loved ones that were around him in his early 20’s. There’s no question Trap Main feels blessed to be alive and he’s focused on a greater purpose – his music.

“I got shot two times in the arm when I was 20 years old – i been through the worst of the worst , I could have been dead. My cousin died at 22, I got shot at 20, so I’m just blessed to be alive,” Trap Main explained. “I was locked up when my partner Lil Lonnie died that was a major loss to a lot of people and it still don’t feel real.”
