Tyga Teams with Clothing Designer for Fresh Launch

Best known for his hit songs like “Rack City” and “Make it Nasty,” rapper Tyga is making his way into the fashion game, teaming up with street clothing designer Daniel Patrick.

While the pairing may seem a bit unconventional, the deal came about when Patrick spotted Tyga wearing some of his clothing during New York Fashion Week back in 2015. Spotting this possible interest and area of opportunity, Patrick reached out to Tyga via Instagram, and asked the rapper if he would be interested in collaborating on a fashion project.

Evidently the Instagram message went over well, and now the two are planning to launch a new line called the Daniel Patrick x T-Raww collection, which will include 8 different styles of clothing. Different pieces will include a skinny jean, an oversized t-shirt, a hoodie, and a bomber jacket.

The brand new clothing line will launch on September 22, at a party on Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles, with clothing set to be available for public purchase the same day. The designer Patrick has hinted that there will be premium pricing for the clothing collection, with prices slated to range anywhere from $110 to $600 a piece. That being said, the clothes look incredibly smooth and clean – and I mean clean. They couldn’t be cleaner if an NYC apartment cleaning service scrubbed and mopped them down for days.

When asked what the inspiration behind the design was, Patrick explained, “We wanted to do something minimal and clean and maybe not what (Tyga’s) regularly known for. And because my aesthetic is minimal and clean, we wanted to stick to that theme.”

For those interested in purchasing clothing from Tyga and Patrick’s new capsule collection, pieces will be available exclusively in the United States at the Daniel Patrick flagship store, which is located on Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles, the same street as the release party. International customers will be able to purchase clothing from the collection online, at Daniel Patrick x T-Raww’s website, and as well at the e-commerce site Revolve’s Revolveman. Unfortunately, customers in the United States will not be able to purchase clothing from the online stores, and will only be able to obtain clothing from the Melrose Avenue location.

For the rap star Tyga, who is currently dating American reality TV personality Kylie Jenner, this is his first venture into a capsule collection design.

Marco Pavé Debuts “Lifted” With Hosting LaRussell At GU

Closing out September’s Self Improvement month, well-known speaker and recording artist Marco Pavé shares his debut song as he is announced as Georgetown University’s first residential hip hop artist. In a lecture powered by G.U.’s Lecture Fund & Critical Frequencies, the Memphis-based community leader hosted an intimate conversation with the Vallejo rap act at ICC Auditorium with indie star LaRussell. The two discussed a variety of topics like being independent, today’s Hip-Hop, social media, and the power of positive thinking.

“Since I was 22 years old, I have been speaking at colleges and universities about the power of Hip Hop,” says Pavé. “My residency at Georgetown is a natural progression for my brand. It is an incredible platform that allows me to continue my creative work while also providing a platform for me to showcase other artists in my network.”

Bringing on LaRussell as a special guest for the fire chat was to educate students on the ups and downs of being an independent artist in today’s music.

He further explained: “Case in point, me bringing LaRussell for a discussion about the climate of the culture and the pitfalls as well as joys of being an independent artist. To do that and then turn around and be able to put out a record of my own immediately after because I’m in complete control of my art is my version of living the dream. I originally made #Lifted as a reflection on my life. At 19 or 20, I had my forklift license because that was the best job you could have at the warehouse I was working at, and I was still broke and depressed because that’s not what I wanted for myself. It’s a song of remembrance, of the hard times but also a song of endearment to keep rising up from wherever you started.”

“Lifted” is a catchy debut that showcases Marco Pavé’s charismatic personality, undeniable star power and impressive lyrical abilities. It’s the perfect origin point for newfound fans.

“Lifted” is produced by Manté Carlo. For everything LaRussell, click here.

A brief background on Marco Pavé, born Tauheed Rahim II, he’s a two-time TEDx speaker who spoke on art patronage and entrepreneurship at the inaugural TEDx Memphis in 2015. As a recording artist, Marco has new music on the way, which includes a full-length project.

Jay Diener Is Next Up

Published

What started off as a friendly freestyle battle for Jay Diener in his hometown cafeteria, grew into something much more than expected. Realizing he had a flow and a lot to say, Jay started taking his craft more seriously while attending the University Of Hartford in Connecticut. King Charlton, who was one of the first people who truly believed in Jay, took him under his wing, gave him a homebase to record and expanded his talents. After getting introduced to CT artists and making a name for himself, Jay Diener moved back to NJ .

Taking what he learned in Connecticut to NYC, Jay began coordinating his own “mastermind” sessions, inviting creatives to critique his music and network. It was a hit! By doing so his network grew rapidly meeting some of today’s well known producers, artists, and their teams, but the bond created with super producer Yonatan Watts was more than a blessing.

Raised by both his loving parents, Diener was surrounded with sounds from Public Enemy to Oasis–Bob Marley to Carl Cox, Tupac to Whitney Houston, mix it in a pot with a splash of Napoleon Dynamite and this is what you got. Jay Diener is a New Jersey native fun loving cat daddy of two, who is unapologetically himself, a lyrical mad scientist with a pen.

After losing his mother to leukemia, Jay Diener was officially on a mission to the top and began to gain momentum with his first official single “Full Circle”. Yonatan made him realize that his time was now and set fire to the sun. The passing of Diener’s mother was an awakening indescribable to anyone who hasn’t lost a parent. On this musical journey, there’s a deeper purpose with something to prove. Jay Diener’s new single “Setting Sun”, a fun loving song dedicated to his mother, embraces the essence of who Jay Diener really is. It’s cool to be uncool.
