Video of Kanye West and Will Smith in the Studio Together

By now you’ve probably heard about Kanye West and Kim Kardashian living it up in Brazil. You may have even heard that Will Smith is also in Rio. In the same hotel. At the same time. Coincidence?

Probably not.

For well over the last week there have been reports that Kanye and Will are actually collaborating on some new music. It all began when the two men were spotted leaving a studio in Brazil, instead of Ye attending the Grammys. While there’s been plenty of photos posted, there’s now a video of them together in the Rio studio.

Even the owner of the studio in Brazil, DJ Batutinha, has spoken up about the recording. He recently told The Sun that he helped with the project and that it will contain a Latin influence.

“Kanye was keen to get to learn more about the funk in Rio and a DJ friend of mine referred him to me. Will and him went to the studio to get to know the sound of the funk better. They thought we could all work out something together and launch this new project.”

Apparently, Kanye and Will have been friends for years. However, the odd friendship has never lead to any musical collaborations, since Will has been focusing more on his acting career. And, as of now, we can only speculate what this new collaboration could be for.

Many believe that the project will end up on Kanye’s next album, which seems the most likely. I don’t think Will Smith is planning a new album. And his upcoming films don’t seem like movies that would include a “Rio funk” or Samba type of song with Kanye West. Then again, stranger things have happened.

The project will be finished back here in the U.S., although we don’t know when. Regardless, it’s going to be, well, interesting. I mean it’s Yeezy and The Fresh Prince on the same song. Never would have thought that I would hear such a thing. And let’s just hope they make a video for it as well. Because we all know that it would be an over-the-top spectacle that would set off some sort of new fashion trend.
