We Know Style, Too: 10 Stylish NBA Players

The playoffs are when the microscope takes its focus on all things in the NBA. Everything–from fouls to defaults in a player’s game–is examined over and over again by everyone from analysts to your buddy who couldn’t make a jump shot to save his life.

Fashion is no exemption as the player’s pre and post-game wardrobes seem to garner some extra attention during the months of April and May. Everything from suits to vests to backpacks can be seen whether it’s good, bad, or just plain ugly. With that in mind, here on SoJones.com, we give you the top 10 stylish NBA players you may want to keep an eye out for on their quests for a potential championship.

10. Chris Bosh

Chris Bosh takes a lot of heat as Miami’s third wheel in the Big 3. All jokes aside though, the man has a keen fashion sense and is routinely one of the league’s best-dressed players every season.

9. Tony Parker

Tony Parker is a Frenchman to a fault at times. The floor general for the San Antonio Spurs exudes a style that’s stereotypical of what Americans would expect from a thirty-something-year-old man from France. Lots of pastel and open colors.

8. James Harden

The Rockets made a bold move when they traded for OKC’s sixth man in the offseason and made him the core of their rebuilding efforts. The move worked as Harden blossomed into a legit star and has all but led Houston to first-round collision with his former team. The move also gave Harden a larger platform to show off his unique hipster style of dressing.

7. Carmelo Anthony

Melo almost has it all. He plays in the mecca of basketball, has a gorgeous wife, and an impeccable sense of fashion. Now if he can finally get a ring this year, he would truly be the toast of New York.

6. Kevin Garnett

Even at the tail end of his career, Garnett is still one of the top post players in the league. He’s also still one of the top dressers, showing that fashion is not just a young man’s game.

5. Russell Westbrook

Westbrook is a young guy, 24 to be exact and at times it shows in his fashion sense. Who can forget those red glasses? He may not be regarded as the GQ of NBA fashion, but the younger fans love everything about him, and they have no problem emulating his style off the court as well as on it.

4. Blake Griffin

The most prominent dunker of the last two seasons has made a reputation for himself as a great low-post talent, hilarious spokesperson, and an immaculate dresser. The force is strong on this one.

3. Dwyane Wade

This is a year of resurgence for Wade. Finally truly healthy for the first time in years, he has looked like the Wade of old and is a big reason why the Heat tallied off 27 straight victories during the regular season. And, while some questioned how he would look on the court when the season began, they never questioned whether or not he would look good off it.

2. Chris Paul

The floor general of Lob City looks to make a long playoff run in 2013. That means giving himself plenty of chances to show that not only is he the premier PG in the league, but the premier style wizard as well.

1. LeBron James

These last few seasons have all but erased any questions as to who is the best basketball player in the universe right now. Winning the championship last season got the monkey off of LeBron’s back and helped erode the villainous persona that the media had given him after signing on with Miami. Switching up his style to a more GQ look in recent years has also made fans look to him as a style icon and forget about those horrible early years in Cleveland when his sense of style was as raw as his game. Long live the King.
