Woody Harrelson Wears Pajamas, Socks to Hunger Games Screening in Paris

Published

There’s something about Parisian style — a certain je ne sais quoi, if you will — that tends to make visitors to the City of Light want to amp up their style a bit. Woody Harrelson, in town to promote The Hunger Games, apparently does not share that feeling.

The laid-back star, who plays Haymitch Abernathy in the trilogy, joined his costars Josh Hutcherson, Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth and director Francis Lawrence at a photocall in Paris before the night’s big premiere. Hutcherson, Hemsworth and the director wore black pants, nice shoes and either a button-up or a blazer. Katniss Everdeen herself, Lawrence, wore a Dior Haute Couture chiffon dress and belt with lace booties by the brand (so very French). And then Harrelson wore flannel PJ pants and decorative socks.

Sure, daytime photocalls tend to be less formal than their evening counterparts, and maybe that’s all Harrelson heard. Maybe he was running late and didn’t have time to button jeans and lace-up shoes and figured punctuality takes precedence over pants-wearing. Perhaps the airline lost his luggage, or those are his lucky PJ pants, or maybe he is planning to go immediately back to bed once these photos are taken.

We know Harrelson lives in Hawaii and likes a more relaxed approach to life generally, and we know that guys can’t do “athleisure” in the same way that ladies can, but we still aren’t giving this particular PJ look a pass; red carpets require zippers and shoes, at the bare minimum. Though we’d be lying if we said we weren’t hoping that he tops himself by coming in a full footie onesie or bathrobe to tonight’s premiere.
