Juby DaGod Completes The Picture With “Jubilee Pt. II”

A city skyline glows against the night while sirens echo somewhere beyond the block. Juby DaGod refuses to look away from reality with Jubilee Pt. II. The Chicago artist broadens his perspective, shifting the lens from personal reflection toward the environment which helped shape him. The project serves as the second chapter of a larger artistic statement which began with Jubilee Pt. I, and together the releases function as two sides of the same conversation. Where the first installment focused inward, Pt II looks outward, examining identity, community, and the contradictions that define life in one of America’s most influential cities. The production keeps the songs moving, allowing listeners to experience Chicago not simply as a location but as a living, breathing character inside the project. Juby DaGod approaches his city with honesty rather than blind loyalty, He says:

My city is beautiful and ugly at the same time.

That simple statement becomes one of the project’s defining ideas. Instead of presenting himself as the sole focus, Juby DaGod often steps back and allows larger themes to take center stage. The opening spoken-word passage immediately establishes that purpose, setting a thoughtful tone before the music expands into more dynamic territory. Producer Bryan Bnice Lewis deserves significant credit for providing a consistent sonic framework across both installments. The chemistry between artist and producer allows the storytelling to remain front and center while still delivering records that feel engaging and replayable. Juby DaGod’s journey may still be in its early chapters, but “Jubilee Pt II” makes it clear that his story deserves a much wider audience. Connect with Juby DaGod on Instagram and Twitter.
