5 Things to Know About the Kardashian/Jenner Apps, Straight from the Girls’ Perfectly-Lipsticked Mouths

Christmas came early to the many people who were dying for more Kardashian/Jenner coverage (we see you, commenters!): The sisters launched their apps Monday to great fanfare. And to really drive home their tech queen status, the sisters hosted a “Meet the Developer” panel at an Apple Store in N.Y.C., where they answered every question you had (and some you didn’t know you had) about their apps and sites. Read on for the five most important facts to come out of their mouths (and watch Kylie’s channel for the tutorial on exactly how to achieve said mouth).

They didn’t ask each other for feedback on the apps. So don’t blame Kim for that Kylie bra video.
Says Khloé, “Yes, we are sisters, but we are unique and our passions are very much different. We all created our sites on our own. We didn’t want to know what the other sisters were doing just to keep it that much more special. And I wanted to be surprised! When I saw Kim’s and Kendall’s and Kylie’s and Kourt’s, I wanted to be as shocked and surprised as the other people.”

The Selfie Queen admits that social media scares her a bit.
She wrote the book on the subject, but even Kim has her reservations about putting it all out there. “Most of us didn’t grow up with it. It’s a completely different world and does it scare me a little bit? Absolutely. Any mom would feel the same way,” she says. “We’re debating, do we do comments? Constructive criticism is always good, but that makes it scary when you have a teen that wants to get into social media. Kendall and Kylie deal with that on a daily basis.” (But don’t worry: She’s still going to be doing selfies.)

If the apps look similar, chalk it up to how close the sisters are.
Kendall reiterates that none of them consulted with the others before launching their apps: “I got in a fight with my manager because I wanted to see Kylie’s boards so long ago and she literally wouldn’t let me see her board. It’s crazy how they’re similar.” Khloé agrees: “When we all saw them collectively, they all kind of emulated each other. It’s kind of the blood with the sisters, I guess.”

Don’t rule out a future dude app.
While Kourtney says “I feel like we leave it up to Kanye,” Kendall has another suggestion: “Kylie would make a sick guy’s line, I feel like.”

“Brands ask us [how we’re so successful] all the time,” Kim says. “The key to when I follow someone that is a smaller brand or fashion blogger, is it’s someone that is consistent and authentic. I get drawn to people that you can see their personality and they are who they are. Not everyone’s gonna like it and you hope that they do.”
