And the bride wore purple! Former Disney star Aly Michalka eschewed bridal tradition at her wedding to director Stephen Ringer, selecting a romantic lavender gown.

Michalka, 26, married Ringer, 30, in an intimate ceremony in Portofino, Italy, over the weekend. The bride teamed her beaded gown with a bejeweled double-strand headband and a purple flower bouquet to complement her dress choice.
Guests got hashtag happy at the affair, posting gorgeous photos from the ceremony and reception along with #PutaRingonIt. (Clever right?)
The couple got engaged last summer. Her engagement ring is also unique — a square-cut diamond surrounded by a vintage-inspired filigree setting — matching well with her unconventional wedding dress choice.

Michalka got her start on Disney’s Phil of the Future and also played Brooke on Two and a Half Men. The actress pulls double duty as a singer alongside her sister, AJ Michalka, in their musical duo, 78violet.
