Beth Ditto is a catwalk queen.
The indie singer brought her signature rocker-girl swagger to Marc Jacobs‘ star-studded Spring 2016 show at New York Fashion Week on Thursday.
The singer, 34, helped Jacobs close fashion’s biggest week in an off-the-shoulder, silver sequin embellished white gown. Platform heels helped accentuate the gown’s thigh-high slit, and Ditto carried a feather boa as she sashayed down the runway at Manhattan’s Ziegfeld Theatre.
“I got an email, and then I answered it, and then I flew here for a fitting,” Ditto told Elle of her surprise walk.
The appearance wasn’t Ditto’s first time on the catwalk, however. Back in 2010, the star opened and closed Jean Paul Gaultier’s NYFW Spring presentation.
Ditto shared a backstage picture with Jacobs on her Instagram account after her big appearance. In the candid moment, the star and the designer seemed to be chatting before she took to the runway.
“A picture right before feeding myself to the lions,” wrote Ditto. “@themarcjacobs THANK YOU AGAIN!!!!!!!”
The show’s cinematic theme was emulated in every aspect of the presentation – guests even received Playbills. Joining Ditto for the walk was model of the moment Kendall Jenner, and seasoned fashion vet Adriana Lima.
