She has officially snatched every wig flowing in the sun. Beyonce Knowles Carter and her brand new self-titled album just crossed the 200,000 copies sold mark…in a matter of hours. With no promo.
Check out how her midnight surprise is faring around the world…
It looks like Mrs. Carter’s unprecedented release strategy for her fifth studio album has paid off…majorly. Chart News reports she has officially crossed the 200,000 copies sold in the U.S. mark for her self titled visual album, Beyonce. And 80,000 of those were sold in the first 3 hours after her surprise midnight release.
These numbers make King Bey & her utter hotness #1 in 87 countries. Billboard reports she’s also poised to snatch the #1 Billboard 200 spot from heavy hitter Garth Brooks after just 3 days in the Billboard cycle (versus a week for everyone else).
Bey said about the project, "I just want to give my album to the people I love and respect and hope that they feel the same thing I felt when I made the music".
Mission accomplished. The album is sensual, intimate, empowering, and damn good.
