We expected to see a lot of feathers on the red carpet at Cannes, but we didn’t expect them all to be on one dress. Indian actress Sonam Kapoor wore a plume-adorned Elie Saab Couture gown to the Inside Out premiere, and it’s one of the riskiest looks we’ve seen at the French film festival.

The voluminous design is covered in yellow feathers and features sequin embroidery. She teamed the look with pink drop earrings and a sleek bun. And because it’s a lot of dress, the Internet had a lot to say — Kapoor’s look quickly turned into a number of memes.
At the Chopard party, she selected a design by Indian designer Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla featuring a black-and-gold brocade bodice with voluminous sleeves. (We imagine you need great posture to pull off the look, which Kapoor clearly has.)
And her first look was also a bold choice — an electric blue Ralph & Russo Couture gown featuring dramatic draping and an exaggerated peplum at the hip, accessorized with matching Giuseppe Zanotti sandals and sparkly Chopard earrings.
What do you think of Kapoor’s style? Risky? Are you a fan? Sound off below.
