Darrell Manning, a 16-year-old straight A student at the Mathematics, Civics and Sciences Charter School in Philadelphia, was a victim of a sexual assault during a pat down which left him with a ruptured testicle. He and his friends were apparently approached by police officers while wearing their school uniforms after having exited a train, and were questioned for no apparent reason. Manning claims that he was handcuffed, then patted down, to which a female officer allegedly grabbed his butt, and then his testicles and pulled them down very hard.
He reported that he felt and heard a pop, and knew something was wrong. He spent the night in the hospital where he had to undergo emergency surgery. The injury could prevent him from having children in the future.
