The son of NBA basketball legend, Michael Jordan, is reportedly going to follow in his famous father’s footsteps and go into the shoe business. The 24-year-old former college basketball player, when not trolling or angering the masses on Twitter, is making the news for his attempts to become a billionaire in his own right.

For those unfamiliar with the heir to His Airness, Marcus James Jordan played for the UCF Knights men’s basketball team of Conference USA. Like his older brother, Jeffrey, he attended Loyola Academy, scoring 8.0 points per game during his true freshman year. In August 2012, the youngest Jordan in the bunch decided to leave the UCF basketball team, but would stay enrolled in classes at the school.

Fast forward a year later, and the world was seeing the child of Michael and Juanita Jordan in a more controversial light. Proving to be not the brightest bulb in the world, Marcus Jordan accidentally tweeted a picture of his genitals to his then-50,000 Twitter followers on a raucous Saturday night. The tweet, which was quickly deleted, made the rounds on publications such as Deadspin, Complex, and turned Baby Jordan into a laughingstock.

Add to the mix that he followed that mess up with a scandal involving an attempt to solicit a porn star via Twitter, as well as brag about dropping $50,000 in one day in Las Vegas, and you can see that Marcus has created quite the checkered Twitter past.

His new move starts with the as-yet-to-be-named sneaker and apparel shop developed by the now-24-year-old entrepreneur. A press release was distributed this morning that has most (not all) of the details:

“This year, [Marcus] has collaborated with some of the biggest names in the world to bring a one-of-a-kind boutique to life that nods at his family history. The vast build-out will be used to translate Marcus’ spin on the ever-growing sports and fashion cultures by merging these two worlds under one roof. Through an elevated brick-and-mortar store emphasizing design details and premium products, he has curated a unique addition to the retail world that will exhibit a new perspective of the Jordan legacy. Amongst the retail environment, customers will experience rare family photos, home videos, unique releases, and limited edition memorabilia.”

While the store is scheduled to open its doors in 2016, it is safe to assume that there will be a bevy of beautiful limited edition Jordan’s sitting on the shelves. When you’re the son of the Greatest NBA Player to never call himself so, it means you have the golden key to the Jordan Brand. Wherever and whenever the store appears, just be sure to have your patience ready, because you’ll be waiting a long time in line to get those deadstock goodies.
