Just when we were starting to get used to Jared Leto’s bright-green Joker hair, he decides to cut it all off. (Who are we kidding? We’ll never get over the day he shed his gorgeous, long ombré locks.)

The actor, who previously cut and dyed his hair bleach blond (and then bright green) for his upcoming role as The Joker in the film, Suicide Squad, chopped his slime-green locks — and then said goodbye to the shattered strands on Instagram.

We’re not certain if the actor’s mane man, celeb hair stylist Chase Kusero, was the mastermind behind the chop, but if so, we’re hoping to see some post-cut selfies pop up from the stylist. Kusero has worked with the star for years — before and after his long hair days (long sigh) — and most importantly, during red carpet season.
“It’s really important that he doesn’t look like a woman — that’s the biggest challenge,” Kusero said during award season last year. “It’s hard to have him not end up on the ‘best hair’ lists — and that definitely hasn’t been our intention. He does have amazing hair, so it’s kind of inevitable.”
