Kim Kardashian West‘s decision to go platinum back in March was originally inspired by a photo of Madonna, but the bold hair move also helped her channel another famous icon: Marilyn Monroe. The 34-year-old star covers Vogue Brasil’s body issue, which celebrates her as a symbol of the new silhouette for the red carpet — the “Marilyn Monroe of 2015.”
Shot by Ellen Von Unwerth, Kim gives her best pin-up girl poses in the two cover photos, wearing a crop top in one and posing topless with long leather gloves in another. The magazine mentions that a wig was ordered for the shoot, but since Kim went blonde just before, it was not needed to complete her Marilyn transformation.
“I challenge anyone to try to do everything I do and then tell me whether or not I have talent,” Kim tells the magazine in the interview, which also touches on her body image, career and new selfie book, Selfish.

The star posted a short promo video as well, showing her glam process with a number of old-timey looking makeup brushes. (That’s not a toothbrush she’s using on her eyebrows, it’s one of these.)
