Nicki Minaj may have surprised hip hop fans recently when she admitted who her favorite female emcees happen to be. “Foxy [Brown], [Lil] Kim, Lauryn [Hill], and then Remy [Ma],” Nicki told Peter Rosenberg–despite her long-standing feud with Lil Kim. “You know when Remy came out, I was very, very excited about her. They were all from New York too. It’s no disrespect to any other female rappers, but those are the ones that I felt like, ‘Ok, yeah. I could get into that.’ They sounded like me when I spoke, and I just thought they really made an impact.” Despite the olive leaf from Nicki, Lil Kim’s cronies dissed the Young Money starlet. And Kim retweeted their hate. “She isn’t geniune, she does NOT mean it,” tweeted one fan. “She’s using Kim once again to get press…” “@NICKIMINAJ knows @LilKim’s album is done,” tweeted another. “She wants kim to look like a hater when the album drops! Please team kim don’t fall for this trap.” |
