Michelle Obama Opts for British Designers on Her Whirlwind (and So-Stylish) Trip to London

It’s no secret First Lady Michelle Obama has impeccable style. But during her recent trip across the pond to London, it seems she’s amped up her usual FLOTUS uniform for a fun, high-fashion and very British wardrobe. Now that her British invasion has come to an end, let’s take a look back at all of her stylish looks from the two-day excursion.

Wrapping up her two-day trip in London, the First Lady waved goodbye as she boarded the plane to Italy in a red-and-pink color-blocked ombré design — her most casual look from the two-day trip. But before rocking this two-toned red number, FLOTUS brought out the big guns, opting for bright, colorful designs by some of her favorite designers, including Thornton Bregazzi for Preen, Christopher Kane and Mary Katrantzou.

Her yellow-and-blue Preen long-sleeved dress with lace detailing was the first ensemble that set the stylish tone for the trip. As for accessories, she teamed the summertime sheath with a black belt, sleek Jimmy Choo pumps and gorgeous blue gemstone drop earrings.

She then swapped out her lacy Preen number for a multi-colored paisley-print Mary Katrantzou short-sleeved dress for the Let Girls Learn Initiative event, which promotes girls’ education, at the Mulberry School for Girls on Tuesday. With a dress as fun and bold as this one, she let it speak for itself and only accessorized with simple Jimmy Choo pumps and delicate jewels.

And on the last leg of the two-day whirlwind of a trip, the First Lady opted for a custom Christopher Kane creation with embroidered floral detailing and an A-line skirt to meet Prime Minister David Cameron and his wife Samantha Cameron. Keeping it simple, Obama accessorized the one-of-a-kind design with the same black pumps and her signature voluminous blowout.
