#NYFW Runway Recap: Sporty Gets A Classy Update At Noon By Noor SS 2016

If you had any doubt that the sporty aesthetic would continue to be a reigning trend during the coming seasons, we’re here to tell you that it isn’t going anywhere. Designer duo, Shaikha Noor Al Khalifa and Shaikha Haya Al Khalifa – better known as the masterminds behind Noon by Noor – decided to take on the popular theme, giving it a classy update for the brand’s spring 2016 runway.

Rather than focus on signature embellishments and prints, the collection honed in heavily on cuts and fabrics. Satin, jacquard and metallic foils were just a few of the materials used throughout a palette mostly of soft, pastel hues – which injected the perfect amount of spring vibes. And if that wasn’t enough, blooming florals grabbed lots of attention, giving sport-inspired silhouettes a feminine twist. Separates like t-shirt jumpsuits were rendered in bold motifs while we couldn’t keep our eyes off the varsity jacket with floral sleeves (we’ve got dibs on it already, BTW).

It was as if the brand was showcasing a step-by-step rendition of everything “It-girls” are sure to be flaunting once the temperatures warm back up – especially with infamous style influencers like Alexa Chung and Leigh Lezark sitting front row.

But its modern take on sportswear didn’t stop the label from taking a turn toward evening-inspired pieces. Strapless gowns, metallic finishes and sheer overlays also made an appearance, proving that there’s nothing wrong with ditching the classic borrowed-from-the-boys look from time to time.
