After saying a few weeks ago in a panel that expanding into a scent was of interest, Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez have announced that they inked a deal with L’Oreal to work on a line of fragrances.
The announcement is a boon for fans of the brand as fragrance and accessories are drivers of fashion businesses. with the highest profit margins, a successful fragrance can sustain a fashion company for years. Couple that with comparatively low price tags and it’s the ideal first buy from a consumer perspective.
Other names in the L’Oreal fragrance stable? Oh just Viktor & Rolf as well as Yves Saint Laurent. Yes you read that correctly, YSL of the famed Opium fragrance. Viktor & Rolf of the best selling Flowerbomb. Those are the Proenza Schouler scent mates. pretty impressive, no?
The company captured the accessory market early on in their careers with their much lauded PS1. We can only predict the success of the fragrance.
