Renowned singer and internationally recognized songwriter Yuna Zarai has been on the music scene since she was 19-years-old. Ever since mastering the art of playing the guitar, the now-28-year-old performer has showcased her talents all over her home country of Malaysia since 2006. After being discovered by Indie-Pop, she eventually signed a deal with Fader, a record label based in New York, which helped to put out her debut US EP, Decorate in March 2011.

That following year, her single “Live Your Life” debuted on iTunes, and cracked public awareness. Produced by Grammy Award-winning producer Pharrell Williams, the track was welcomed and has since received 2.7 million views on YouTube. Her success and reach within global waters has caught the attention of Uniqlo, which has announced today (June 1) the launch of a modest wear collections featuring the acclaimed singer-songwriter in the mix. Created in collaboration with Hana Tajima, the UK-born fashion designer and blogger will be alongside Yuna in campaign pictures for the Uniqlo LifeWear concept.

The inaugural range will include stylish headscarves, relaxed jeans, blouses, and long dresses, which are signature staples to Yuna’s style. In addition to that, there will be AIRism hijab inner wear headscarves and headbands.

According to Uniqlo Malaysia’s chief executive officer, Taku Morikawa, “The Hana Tajima collection is a further extension of our LifeWear concept in making fashionable, high quality products for anyone, anywhere, to enhance lifestyles. We worked with Hana to develop something with international appeal, while maintaining the concept of modest clothing. The result is not only stylish, but comfortable.”

With the goal of creating a collection for those who “appreciate modesty as a lifestyle,” the Hana Tajima x Uniqlo x Yuna Zarai collection is aimed at a broader international audience. Interested consumers who are intrigued on getting their chicness up a notch can expect the Uniqlo x Hana Tajima Collection to be available at all Uniqlo stores in Malaysia beginning July 3. Prices will range from RM19.90 to RM149.90.
