Vivienne Westwood proved she is a “Game of Thrones” fan just like us, when she cast a main character in her latest campaign.
Gwendoline Christie, known to ‘GOT’ fans as Brienne of Tarth, is the star of Westwood’s FW 15/16 campaign.
Describing Christie as “a really interesting woman,” Westwood transformed the 6’3″ British beauty into a gothic fashionista. Posing in Westwood’s iconic unisex take on clothing, including a leather jacket with fur lining and a midnight blue satin off-the-shoulder gown, added model to her resume. Dark lips, extensive eyeliner and black nails complete the darker mood of the campaign, shot by famed photographer Juergen Teller.

“I am so proud to be part of Vivienne Westwood’s A/W 15 campaign. I have admired Vivienne ever since I can remember for her revolutionary mind and exquisitely rebellious design…’ said Christie in Grazia Daily. “I love the ‘UNISEX’ theme of this collection. It is so relevant for Vivienne Westwood to reassert their activist mindset and create a collection that takes us beyond our current gender stereotypes with beauty and intelligence.”

It is no surprise that Christie has been named the new face of Vivienne Westwood. Along with being a muse for several designers including Giles Deacon and Peter Pilotto, Christie also walked in Westwood’s F/W 15 runway show during Paris Fashion Week last February.
