“Weird Al” Yankovic recently recorded a song in Third Man Records’ Voice-O-Graph booth, a machine from 1947 that records up to two minutes of audio and dispenses a 6″ phonograph disc afterwords, kind of like a Polaroid.
Users are given the option to submit digital versions of the songs to the Third Man Records website, but now you can watch video of “Weird Al” recording the acapella medley– including his Yoda chant— below.
Previously, Neil Young paid a visit to the same booth, recording covers of Willie Nelson’s “Crazy” and Ivory Joe Hunter’s “Since I Met You Baby”. Weezer also visited and recorded a version of “Susanne”.
