Woman Found Murdered After Predicting Death on Facebook

A woman was found stabbed to death in her East St. Louis apartment Saturday night, and it would appear she was aware of being in danger.

“If anything happens to me tonight just let my kids know I loved them dearly and tell my momma I love her,” Michelle Rowling, 25, posted to her Facebook page on November 25th.

A few days later, police were called to Rowling’s housing complex to investigate a disturbance and found the woman bleeding to death from several stab wounds. She was rushed to a nearby hospital but was pronounced DOA.

Rowling’s post was in reference to the release of her ex-boyfriend, 25-year-old Montrell Cooper, reports St. Clair County State’s Attorney Brendan Kelly. Cooper had been locked up since August for assaulting her.

Cooper had assaulted Rowling before, but she testified on his behalf so he only got probation.

Rowling’s relatives claim Cooper murdered Rowling because she was attempting to leave him and move on with her life.

Police are still searching for Cooper, and are asking anyone with information to come forward.
