“Do you boo boo! Do you!” From Zendaya’s lips to the ears of every girl and woman in the world!
The recently graduated teen who has time after time that she’s so wise beyond her years posted a quick video on Facebook to address something. “Not trying to have a preach moment but,” she starts off in the clearly home made clip. What follows is an out and out PREACH moment, whether the store meant it or not. “It should not be a phenomenon if a girl decides to or not to wear makeup,” she says to the camera. “If you want to beat that face down, then beat it down! If you want to go natural, then go natural!” Two snaps. And then the aforementioned “Do you boo, boo! Be happy!” If there ever was a rallying cry, here it is.
We can’t lie; the fashion industry — our site included — makes a very big deal about every little change in a celebrities’ beauty look. And we’re not apologizing for it, let’s state that outright. We absolutely love beauty, and if we didn’t write stories about the amazing women who decide to go natural or the ones who know just the right way to wild every brush in their arsenal(or have maybe hired a team of people who do) what would we be writing about for our beauty coverage? But, Z does have a point.
While we might write about it, it shouldn’t be lauded as a phenom. It’s a new look yes, we love it yes, but women have decided to go a different route shouldn’t be “other’ed” because they haven’t too done the same. At the end of the day, it’s your face and you have to do what you like and we respect that. Do you boo boo, be happy!
