Snoop Dogg & Dr. Dre Reunite For “Missionary” Album & Explosive Short Film

From Doggystyle to Missionary, history repeats, only louder. Legendary collaborators Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre have returned to the studio together for Missionary, a new album that cements their place as cultural icons while ushering in a fresh chapter of their partnership. Released today via Death Row, Aftermath, and Interscope Records, the album is accompanied by a short film that encapsulates their shared legacy and creative evolution. “The Missionary” short film brings the album to life with stunning visuals that blend cinematic storytelling and cultural nostalgia. A standout on the album is Last Dance With Mary Jane featuring Tom Petty and Jelly Roll. The track cleverly samples Petty’s original hit, and Dre recalls Petty’s foresight in an interview with the Los Angeles Times:
Tom once said, ‘If Dre ever samples this song, he’s going to have an instant hit.’ That trust and foresight are woven into this entire album.
Snoop added:
We’re still in love with what we do. I’m peaking right now, and Dr. Dre brings the best out of me. He’s particular about everything—from my delivery to the concepts—making sure it’s just right.
The album isn’t just a throwback; it’s a cultural moment. Missionary represents the duo’s first full project together since Snoop’s 1993 debut, Doggystyle. By revisiting their roots while pushing boundaries, Snoop and Dre prove once again why they are pillars of hip-hop. “Missionary” blends timeless West Coast sounds with innovative production, creating tracks that resonate with old fans and new listeners alike. For Snoop, this album is a testament to their unbreakable bond and creative spark. Stream now here, watch the cinematic short film below and let us know your thoughts in the comments.
