Krown Vic Drops Hocus-Produced “Ricky Bobby” Music Video

Published

on

Virginia recording artist Krown Vic revs up into high gear for the release of his new music video for his latest single, properly-titled “Ricky Bobby.” On the visual for the Hocus-produced track, Vic hits the booth and the streets in a tricked-out mustang, driving like a bat outta hell, blue faces flying out the windows, with a couple of beautiful vixens passenger side. Both the song and visual are infectious introductions for any newly discovered fan.

From the green light, Vic hits overdrive immediately with a series of nail-biting, hair turn bars that will have you on the edge of your seats from beginning to end. “Turn the corner Ricky bobby / Always dodging federally / Aggressive, accumulation, taking risk, triple flip, yeah / Jamming out the Marriott, I’m turning three to ten and serving jays / Hotel turn revolving door.”

Based on the single’s charisma, adrenaline and crafty wordplay, it’s easy to notice that the rising star was magnetically drawn to the production, which leads to the clever synonyms dropped in the verses that blend cars culture and street life.

“Ricky Bobby is one of my favorite records because it’s part of the lingo between me and my homies,” says Vic about the song’s meaning. “We call making money moves Ricky Bobby. Like say someone were to ask what you doing today? You’d reply, I’m going Ricky Bobby and we’ll instantly know what you mean. Might not know exactly what the play is, but it’s understood you’re getting to a bag.”

“Ricky Bobby” is the visual release from Vic’s new project, Hourly Profit, the nine-track album self-released last February. And with the new hit, the collection includes breakout tracks “Clearance” and “Dick and Jane.” Hourly Profits is available now on all digital streaming platforms.

21 Savage collaborator and Upper Marlboro native Big Flock joins Krown Vic for his Kidd Slopes produced single “Knock Knock.” Less than a week removed from The Notorious B.I.G.’s Life After Death anniversary, which features inspiration drawn track “Kick In The Door,” the cohesive cut finds the DMV rap acts trading tails from the hood over menacing production.

“I was put on to Flock’s music when I was doing my thing in Maryland. Females I dealt with would always be bumping him so I started to become a fan. Now that I make music, I felt it was only right to collaborate, ” say’s the Virginia mainstay about how the record came into fruition.

Vic is a VA raised rapper who, alongside in-house producer Garso Dio, combines Hip-Hop beats and witty wordplay with a Trap-Punk twist. Though he stays true to his lane of street storytelling, K.V.‘s lyrics double as a cautionary tale to the youth about how making the wrong decisions can derail you from personal growth. As an adolescent, he admired heavy-weight entertainers like Eminem and Michael Jackson, who influenced his sonic stylings.

After touring the West Coast and Florida with Lil Pump, D Savage, and Joey Fatts, Vic regularly performs at local Washington D.C. venues Eden, Griffin, and Rose Bar. He has also shared the stage with Billboard chart-topping artists Gucci Mane, 21 Savage, Lil Uzi Vert, and DRAM.

Krown Vic Kicks Things Up A Notch with New Video For “Strike V2”

Once again connecting with in-house producer Kidd Slopes, Virginia native Krown Vic follows up his KP Skywalka-assisted release “Business Is Business” with “Strike V2.” The high-level trap record sonically appeals to the masses while simultaneously fitting the criteria for the perfect strip club cut. Krown’s storytelling when decoded is a vivid description of the underworld and what it takes to stay alive in the lawless environment.

“I love SV2 because it was a relevant way for me to express the psychotic personality that I bury inside. When you learn better you do better, so I no longer act on every thought or impulse. It’s a fun turn-up record that happened on one of the many 10-hour sessions with Slopes and me; the only difference is that this was what we call a runner backer and we couldn’t stop playing it. We knew it was going to hit and motivate the streets,” the Firm Records CEO details in an exclusive statement to #MCA about the song’s origins.
