Believe it or not, it’s been ten whole years since The Devil Wears Prada hit theaters.

The film —based off Lauren Weisberger’s novel— told the story of Andy Sachs, the assistant to Miranda Priestley, editor-in-chief of America’s leading fashion publication. Not-so-loosely based off Weisberger’s experience as Anna Wintour’s assistant at Vogue, it gave a very accurate account of the intense work culture behind fashion publications.

In addition to the crazy storyline, the actual clothing chosen by Patricia Field, was epic. But a decade later, work fashion has changed in ways.

Yes, fashion is fashion.

But with tech companies on the rise and more relaxed work cultures, we had to ask style expert, Lindsay Albanese about what’s really appropriate.
