Get ’em while they’re young! That’s the idea the folks at the Lifetime Channel have with their new spin-off of “Project Runway,” entitled “Project Runway Junior.”

As a way to appeal to fresh talent, aged 14-17, the competition in this iteration will challenge teens to create designs themed around creative concepts. Currently, “Project Runway” is going into its 14th season starting Aug 6 and has versions in over a dozen countries.

As reported by Fashionista about “Project Runway Junior”:

Tim Gunn will continue to “make it work” as co-host, but with model Hannah Davis by his side instead of Heidi Klum. The judges include “Project Runway” alum and designer Christian Siriano and Cosmopolitan Executive Fashion Editor Aya Kanai, the latter continuing Hearst’s involvement in the series. (Marie Claire Fashion Director Nina Garcia has been a judge on the original reality competition since it debuted on Bravo in 2004.) And now that Cosmopolitan Editor in Chief Joanna Coles oversees Seventeen, expect to see coverage of the young contestants in the teen-focused magazine once the show premieres this fall.

If this is anything like “MasterChef Junior” we can expect dramatic tears, back stabbing and surprising missions. Essentially your every day fashion school experience.

No air date has been announced as of yet.
