Cheri Yielle Releases Emotional New Visual Titled “In The Sky/Off The Rim”
Haitian-American singer and songwriter Chéri Yielle is exactly what the music business is missing. With a unique voice, melodic riffs, and deep creativity, she is right on track to have the biggest year of her career. Returning to the public eye with an emotionally charged video and short film titled “In The Sky/Off The Rim”, Chéri Yielle proves that her musical gifts are far beyond a microphone. Around the 3:40 mark, the love seems to turn sour, forcing this artist to channel the darker side of love and creativity.
You will see her crying in the arms of her loved one, struggling to convey where her tears of trauma are spawning from. No matter what he does, Chéri’s pain is too much for either of them to bear, taking a toll on their relationship as companions. Her raw emotions stem from the loss of her father in 2014, followed by her mother’s bout with breast cancer, which fueled the creation of her Surrender EP. This creative process happened simultaneously while the real-life story played out on the stage of college classrooms. The Long Island native’s ability to create a visual that allows onlookers to dive deeper into her mental and pain, is the reason why this release is her most eye opening offering to date.
