Childish Gambino spoke on Drake’s highly acclaimed new album “Nothing Was The Same” during a recent interview with Power 105’s The Breakfast Club.  Even though Drake’s album received tons of promotion prior to its release, and even though it is on the right track towards reaching the Platinum selling mark, Gambino feels as though there is a lack of longevity regarding the work.  He believes that it was over-hyped prior to its release, and that after fans listen to it, the lasting effect floats away in the wind.

Gambino feels as though the audience attention span spent on various projects doesn’t hold anymore like it used to, and that simply releasing an album isn’t enough anymore.  He went on to address how he is going to release a whole slew of projects to go along with his next musical work, “Because the Internet,” which he will be releasing on December 10th.

“There was so much hype about Drake’s album and everybody was really excited.  It felt like it was here and then gone, because people were just like, ‘I listened to it. I did the thing I was supposed to do and now I’m done.’

“I’m not going to make an album.  I’m going to make the roll out dope. I’m going to make the movie with it dope. I’m going to make a world. Cause the thing is album… it doesn’t mean anything.”
