Cipha Sounds is done after 17 years at Hot 97
After 17 years Cipha Sounds and WQHT Hot 97 have split ways. Cipha sound is no loner working for New York Hot 97. Cipha who was unclear of his role at the station voice his opinion about management on the Juan Epstein the afternoon podcast. After Angie Martinez went to power 105 Cipha and funk flex remain the last two of the original Hot 97 members. Cipha spoke and said “After 17 years, I’m leaving Hot 97. I¹m changing my relationship status from ‘it¹s complicated’ to ‘single’. It¹s been an amazing ride – from intern to weekends to morning show host to fill Angie¹s seat in afternoons. Many years of incredible, life-changing experiences and enough amazing memories to last five lifetimes. The next move is already underway and I promise it’s going to be huge.”
We are not sure whats going on at Hot 97 but we wish Cipha all the best and always remember “Cipha don’t get gassed”!!!! lol we will miss hearing that! Good luck and Thank you!
