Cressida Bonas Makes Her Dior Debut at the Line’s Fashion Show in Cannes

It’s not likely that one will ever receive a written invitation to join fashion’s elite, but the envelope containing the summons to Dior’s Cruise Collection show in Cannes just might be the closest you can get to a concrete “Cheers, you’re in!” from the cool crowd. Prince Harry’s super-stylish ex, actress Cressida Bonas, just joined the club (and for the festival-loving lady who once made scrunchies her signature, this is a pretty big deal).

This isn’t “Cressy’s” first time displaying her fashionable inclinations: She’s appeared in the British Miss Vogue magazine, attended many events honoring British designers, and has starred in ads for U.K. luxury brand Mulberry. (And though style seems to come naturally to her, she’s actually pursuing acting more seriously: She stopped by the show on a break from rehearsals for An Evening With Lucien Freud in London’s West End.)

But since entering the public eye during her two-year relationship with Prince Harry (which ended last spring), she hasn’t been spotted at a fashion show until now. And what an inaugural event: It took place at the residence of iconic designer Pierre Cardin, called le Palais Bulles (the “bubble palace”).

Bonas opted for a sequined turtleneck mini resembling the looks from the line’s Pre-Fall 2015 collection, plus 4-in. suede-and-fishnet heels. She accessorized with a peppy ponytail and a dramatic architectural clutch with a scarf threaded through as a handle. Should we expect to see her in more Dior? An onlooker noted that Bonas was a big fan of the collection’s checked motif and high-waisted designs, and adored the futuristic (but picturesque) setting, so we’ll take that as a yes.
