Demi Lovato Wears Sexy Bondage Top and Cutoff Shorts (and That’s Just One of Her Bold Looks from the Past 24 Hours)
Demi Lovato told PEOPLE in March that she was really “excited” about wearing shorts this summer. Turns out, the star definitely wasn’t lying, hitting an event Wednesday in a pair of high-waisted denim cutoffs … and not much else.
Lovato, 22, debuted her new single “Cool for the Summer” with a Z100 performance in N.Y.C., taking the stage in her dominatrix-style bikini top, which she accessorized with over-the-knee gladiator stilettos and colorful tassel earrings. She even had a ’90s-inspired tattered denim vest on for part of her performance. (Fun fact: She jumped into the pool at the Gansevoort Park Avenue hotel to snap selfies with fans!)
Earlier in the day, the singer stopped by Sirius XM studios in a matching floral crop top and skirt set, plus, colorful platforms. And she left her poolside performance in a tie-dye blue dress featuring a sexy stomach cutout that showed off her abs. Her pink lip and slicked back bob worked with all the looks.

Lovato told PEOPLE earlier this year that she was excited to shed some layers this season and have fun with her style.
“I tried on my shorts that I wasn’t able to fit into last summer, and some of them are too big on me — so that’s exciting,” she shared.
The star also advocates for positive body image, and often shares powerful messages with her fans on social media as a reminder that beauty isn’t one size fits all.
“The photo that I shared on Instagram, I just wanted people to know that you don’t have to have a thigh gap to be beautiful, and to reinforce that it’s all about finding the confidence inside,” she said.
