What isn’t there to love about weddings? If you’re the bride or wedding planner, the answer is slightly complicated. Beyond the food menu, table decor and honeymoon destination is a wedding registry that should be both aspirational and practical.

Keeping all of these important factors in check, let alone a list of wedding gifts, is quite the undertaking; just ask our Deputy Editor Danielle Kwateng. Our resident bride to be and her fiancé Kevin (above–aren’t they adorable?!) are getting married later this week and we’ve gotten to witness some of the decision making that goes what will be the most important day of their lives thus far.

Unsurprisingly, their registry is missing a few items; wedding planning isn’t without those inevitable “brain fart” moments. Keep reading to see what they are and take notes if you’re planning a walk down the aisle.

J.A. Henckels International Forged Premio 13-Piece Cutlery Set, $305.00

“We’re big on cooking. Dinner is a fun time for us to play ’90s R&B, chat and throw down in the kitchen. So I’m bummed I didn’t think about a new knife set for our registry.”

Surya Nolan Mirror, $1,900

“I’ve been talking about having a large mirror in the foyer area of the apartment since we moved in. My favorite are mirrors with a tile frame, kind of like this one.”

Diptyque Jasmin Candle, $60

“One of my deepest loves in life, when it comes to home items, are candles. I can NEVER have enough of them. Diptyque is a brand I’ve never mustered up enough nerve to buy myself, so I should have added to the registry.”
