The Shameless star, whose Mr. Robot creator boyfriend Sam Esmail popped the question in late August, right before his show’s super-buzzy finale. Since that whirlwind weekend, the two have been laying low — but Rossum just stepped out and she gave us a look at her ring at the same time!

The actress, wearing an orange textured Tory Burch dress and crown of braids, proudly showed off her new, sparkly accessory: a (very) large round stone flanked by two slim baguettes on a platinum band. She also gave a glimpse of the sparkler in motion while blowing out the candles on her 29th birthday cake.
All in all, it seems apparent that Esmail followed Rossum’s one style rule when picking out her ring: “Wear what makes you happy and what you feel comfortable in … you just gotta be you.” Chic, feminine and classic? Yeah, we’d say that’s Rossum to a T.
