Eva Mendes Hates Sweatpants, Wears a $6 Dress on the Red Carpet

Last week, Eva Mendes was caught bashing sweatpants. The actress claimed in an interview with Extra that the offending garment was the, “number one cause of divorce in America.” Mendes then quickly issued a public apology after the internet ganged up on her, saying that she was indeed mistaken; orange crocs are actually the number one cause of divorce.

The issue has since been swept under the rug. Perhaps the star is still feeling a little guilty, however, as Mendes has just fessed up to one of the best kept secrets in Hollywood. In a #TBT, Mendes revealed that she shops at Goodwill and even wore a $6 Goodwill dress back in 2001 for the premiere of The Others.

Mendes wrote in the caption, “The debut of my latest @nyandcompany collection has me throwing back to my first red carpet. I did my own hair and make up and that’s a $6 dress from Goodwill. I’ve always loved a cheap find. Viva thrift shops! #tbt.”

So there you have it folks. Mendes would never be caught dead in sweatpants, but she still enjoys a good bargain like the rest of us.
